If you’re a Luno customer in the UK, and you want to withdraw funds from your local currency wallet, we’ll first need to verify your bank account, so we know it’s yours.

We’ve partnered with TrueLayer to make this as easy as possible for you.

From your local currency wallet, when you select WITHDRAW, and then  Add a new bank account, you’ll navigate to TrueLayer, where you can enter your banking app securely and choose the account you want to link, in order to make your withdrawal.


Note:

You can only link a GBP or EUR bank account, not any other currency bank accounts or credit cards.


Troubleshooting

If there’s a mismatch with the name on the bank account that you tried linking, there are three options available to you.

Option 1: Try linking a different bank account in your own personal name

  1. From your local currency wallet, select WITHDRAW

  2. Select  Add a new bank account

  3. And select CONTINUE TO TRUELAYER on the next screen - where you can choose the other bank account you want to link

Option 2: Deposit from your bank account so we know it’s yours

  1. From your local currency wallet, select WITHDRAW

  2. Select  Add a new bank account

  3. Select LINK ACCOUNT MANUALLY, and follow the steps from there

Once we receive your deposit, we’ll automatically link your bank account, after which you can make your withdrawal.

Option 3: Send us a bank account statement confirming that your bank account belongs to you

Your bank account statement needs to contain the following:

  • The bank name

  • The account holder name

  • The account number

  • And the sort code

Once you have your bank account statement ready, you can send it through to us here. If all the details match, we’ll manually add your bank account, and let you know once it’s done.
