This article covers how to do the following:

  1. Update the mobile number associated with your Luno account

  2. Update the email address associated with your Luno account

  3. Update the password associated with your Luno account

How do I update my mobile number?

Follow the steps below in order to update the mobile number linked to your Luno account. Please note that you cannot update your mobile number on the Luno app, you'll need to update it using Luno on your web browser.

  1. Sign in at www.luno.com with your email address and password, as well as your two-factor authentication (2FA) code if you have 2FA enabled. 

  2. Select Profile from the menu and scroll down to Settings

  3. Select ‘Change settings’

  4. Click on your mobile number and then click on the three small dots on the right-hand side of your verified mobile number and select ‘Change’

  5. Here you can type in your new mobile number and click ‘Next’

  6. You will then need to enter a confirmation OTP, which will be sent to your new mobile number 

Once you have entered the OTP, you will need to authorise this change so that we can verify that you did, in fact, make this change. You will receive an authorisation link via either:

  • Push notification, if you’ve been signed in on the mobile app for more than 7 days

  • SMS, to the existing mobile number on your account

Clicking on the link will open an authorisation screen where you can choose to approve or deny the change.

You have now successfully updated your mobile number!

I no longer have access to my old mobile number, what now?

If you no longer have access to your old mobile number and cannot receive the SMS to authorise changing your mobile number you can either:

  • Sign in on the mobile app, wait seven days and authorise the change via push notification

  • Contact our support team by submitting a ticket to us here: https://www.luno.com/help/tickets/new.

How do I update my email address?

Follow the steps below in order to update the email address linked to your Luno account. Please note that you cannot update your email address on the Luno app, you have to update it using Luno on your web browser.

  1. Sign in at www.luno.com with your email address and password, as well as your two-factor authentication (2FA) code if you have 2FA enabled. 

  2. Select Profile from the menu and scroll down to Settings

  3. Select ‘Change settings’ and select your email address

  4. Select ‘Add email’

  5. Enter your new email address and click ‘Next’, you will then be prompted to enter your 2FA code linked to your old email address (if 2FA is enabled on your account)

  6. A verification email will then be sent to your newly-added email address. 

Click on the link in the email to verify your new email address. Once you have verified your new email address, follow these steps:

  1. Go back to Profile and scroll down to Settings

  2. Select ‘Change settings’ and select your email address

  3. Click on the three dots next to your new email address and click ‘Set’ as primary

How do I update my password?

Follow the below steps in order to update your Luno account password on the Luno app:

  1. Sign in to the Luno app with your email address and password, as well as your two-factor authentication (2FA) code if you have 2FA enabled. 

  2. Select Profile from the menu and scroll down to Security, then select ‘Show all’

  3. Select ‘Password’

    1. If you’re using Luno on your mobile device you will be prompted to enter your 4-digit PIN

    2. Remember that your new password must contain more than 8 characters, at least 1 symbol & number, and at least 1 uppercase letter

  4. You will now be prompted to enter your 4-digit pin

You have now successfully updated your password!

I’ve forgotten my password, what now?

If you’ve forgotten your Luno account password, please enter your email address on the forgot password page.

A password reset link will be sent to you via SMS. Once you have received the message, you can click the link to set a new password.
