Our iDEAL deposit method allows some of our European customers, with a Dutch bank account, to deposit money directly to their Luno wallets without the need of a credit card.
Here’s how to make your bank transfer using iDEAL
Follow the usual deposit method by choosing Deposit money from the More menu on your home screen. Then:
Step 1 From the selection choose Bank transfer with iDEAL.
Step 2 Enter the amount, according to your individual limits.
Step 3 Continue to our card payment partner Checkout.com to confirm the transaction.
Step 4 Select your bank in the field provided (Issuer ID) and hit Submit.
Step 5 Wait to be redirected to your banking platform.
Step 6 Approve the transaction in your banking platform.
Step 7 Finally, go back to Luno and hit Done.

What is iDEAL?
With iDEAL your online payments are reliable, secure and easy, because iDEAL has a collection of agreements between the banks and transaction processors. This means you can pay using your own online banking platform or mobile banking app.
Why can’t I use this feature?
Only European customers with Dutch bank accounts have access to the iDEAL deposit method.
Which countries support iDEAL?
iDEAL is only available to customers with a bank account in the Netherlands.
Are there limits for these deposits?
Yes. You can deposit up to EUR 2,000 per transaction, however, the limit of your bank verification may apply. This is separate from your current account level limits, which include the monthly and lifetime deposit limits that will be applied regardless of this card deposit limit.
Are there any fees?
No. Right now there are no fees associated with depositing money into your Luno wallet.
How long does it take to reflect?
Deposits using iDEAL typically take around 15-30 minutes to reflect in your Luno wallet.
