As with any service, there are a few basic requirements in linking your bank account to your Luno wallet and requesting withdrawals.

  1. Withdrawals must be made to a bank account that belongs to the same person who owns the Luno wallet. The bank account must be in your name
  2. You may not withdraw money into a friend or family member’s bank account
  3. If you wish to use a company bank account to make withdrawals from Luno, please apply for a company account at Luno

Before requesting a withdrawal, you’ll need to first ensure that your identity is verified.

Requesting a withdrawal

To request a withdrawal, you will need to add a beneficiary to your Luno account. Learn more about adding beneficiaries and requesting withdrawals here.

How long does a withdrawal take?

Withdrawal times depend on your country and your bank. For more information, please see our withdrawal schedule.

How much does it cost to withdraw money?

Luno only charges you a fee if your bank charges us a fee. Learn more about fees for withdrawing money from your Luno wallet

What do I do when a withdrawal doesn’t work?

A withdrawal can fail if the bank account details were invalid or entered incorrectly. If this happens, you will need to contact our support team after 48 hours.

These are basic pointers but there is more information available on withdrawals within our Terms of Use.

Important note for our UK/EU customers

Before you can withdraw money from your local currency wallet, you'll first need to make a deposit from your bank account - so we can add it as a beneficiary for withdrawals. This will confirm that the bank account is in your name, so that we can process your withdrawals correctly, as per our terms of use.
